In the world of “Bulldogs” there is something for everybody. Some of us simply like the feeling of owning a great dog. Whether he shows his dog or not, whether he breeds his dog or not are not importnat to him, he just wants the pleasure of owning a dog that everyone else agrees is a great dog for whatever the reason. Others of us are strickly conditioners and handlers. Whether or not the dog belongs to them or to someone else, their thrills come from having the knowledge and ability to put a dog in the kind of condition that, by far, transcends the physical condition of any other canine endevor. And then possess the skill to give his dog an advantage he will need to win. Finally, the breeders. They’re the folks who put male and female together to better the breed. The people who operate in an inexact science to constantly came up with superior dogs. The Register of Merit section recognizes the producers of these superior dogs. lf a male dog becomes the sire of four (4) Champions, he is entitled to be placed on the Register of Merit list. He is awarded one point for every Champion he sires. lf any of the those Champions go on to earn the title of Grand Champion the dog will be awarded one additional point for every Grand Champion he sires. Females are judged the same way except that a bitch need only be the dam of three (3) Champions.
